For this illustration, we were to take a scene from a book and illustrate it. I chose the story of the seven samurai defending a village from bandits. In this first version of the illustration, I used watercolors and india ink in a very loose fashion. The teacher believed it was too obscure to make out the image.

In this second version of the illustration, I used prisma colors. I made much of the image more defined as compared to the watercolor version by adding more highlights and shadows. However, I personally like the watercolor version better.
